Sync Blocker is a simple application that enables you to
prevent your iPhone, iPod or iPad from automatically syncing and
deleting your media when you plug your device into your computer.
Sync Blocker is only in the Mac App store as of 6.0.2 so if you download earlier versions you will not be able to update to the latest version. This includes the 5.4.1 available here and 6.0.1 here.
If you try to update to the latest version (6.0.2) from the 5.4.1 downloads you will get the following message, Sync Blocker for iTunes is already installed and cannot be uninstalled from your computer:
“Sync Blocker was unable to be uninstalled from your computer. Once sync block is installed on your computer, iTunes cannot remove it. Please try uninstalling it again from your computer. It is possible that iTunes will not remove Sync Blocker until it is uninstalled. Once iTunes has removed Sync Blocker, you may continue with uninstalling this app. As you try to uninstall Sync Blocker, iTunes will not remove Sync Blocker.”
